Light Emerging: The Journey of Personal Healing

Barbara Ann Brennan

Light Emerging: The Journey of Personal Healing — Front Cover
Front Covermain image

The sequel to Barbara Brennan's landmark Hands of Light, and a window into one of the most influential systems in the energy-healing world. Brennan came to this by an unusual road — she was an atmospheric physicist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center before turning to healing — and that résumé lends her writing a technical, diagrammatic confidence. Where the first book mapped her model of the Human Energy Field, this one turns to the healing process itself: how client, healer, and conventional caregivers might work together, plus deeper strata she calls the Hara level and the Core Star. Read it as the internal logic of a belief system rather than established science — its claims aren't supported by mainstream physics or medicine — and on those terms it's a clear, committed guide to a worldview that shaped a whole corner of alternative healing.

The author

Barbara Ann Brennan (1939–2022) trained as an atmospheric physicist at the University of Wisconsin and worked as a research scientist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center before turning to energy healing. She founded the Barbara Brennan School of Healing and became one of the best-known figures in the field, her scientific résumé lending her writing an air of technical authority.

The book

Light Emerging is the sequel to her landmark Hands of Light. Where the first book laid out her model of the Human Energy Field, this one focuses on the process of healing itself — how client, healer and conventional caregivers might cooperate — and introduces deeper strata she calls the Hara level and the Core Star, framed through metaphors borrowed from holography.

How to read it

Read it as the internal logic of a belief system rather than as established science; its claims about auras and energy fields are not supported by mainstream physics or medicine. Approached on those terms, it's a clear and committed guide to a worldview that has shaped a large corner of alternative healing.

For more context

Its natural predecessor is Brennan's own Hands of Light, which sets out the framework this book builds on.
